My second day was not soo dull either!!!
I'm an Assistant Engineer Trainee in the GIS (Global Information System) unit of CSC and we were told that we'll be given a lot of chance to take our carrier further. The growth potential (according to the HR's and Technical guru's in the company) is limitless. If I work hard enough, I can be a CEO of the company some day!!! (which is pretty unlikely :D) and to answer your question, NO! we are not sitting idle (although its only our second day). We touched the theoretical part of our job in hand today along with some company policies and benefits. There were some very high profile guys present in the office (Radisson :P) today. One of em Srinivas Polisetty is a master mind code breaker who heads the office of Innovation at CSC. He had the opportunity to work with Marc Andreessen, the inventor of the first ever browser in the world "Mosaic". Mr. Polisetty also has contacts with Bill Gates which he told us when we were trying to joke around with him.
but its not only the technical thrills we get at CSC, in between the HR's from the company come and let us all play games which involve team effort. In that way we got to know our colleagues much better!!!! Trust me it was really fun as we were allowed to run around the room talk to people ask for their hobbies and pen it down :D. Although my favorite game has to be the one where we had to find Cadbury Eclairs hidden in the room!!! We frantically ran around the room to find em... but to our surprise, the one who found the most Eclairs would end up in deeper problems :D Luckily I wasn't one of em... The guys who found the most Eclairs (e.g 9) would have to share 9 of his deepest secrets with the group!!! :D
In the end, the HR made us sit in different groups so that we could develop a corporal bond with em [thats when I met the girl who did the M.Sc (IT) and MBA]
But it was another fun day...
